At 500 knots per square inch, the rug has been hand crafted with silk on a silk foundation with consummate artisanship. The silk with its interplay with light adds a unique shine to the rug which provides dark and light sides to the rug when viewed from different angles. The inner field features an elegant and ornate medallion, against an ivory background studded with delicate arabesque botanical motifs, and dramatic corner brackets. The main border is handsomely conceived in a rose background adorned with curvilinear floral motifs. It is flanked by a series of ornate guard borders. The overall effect is one of precision, an art form come alive when superlative technique, craftsmanship and design intersect.
